Land-Use Policy for Storer Conservation Lands
You are invited to enjoy the following activities:
- Walking, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice-skating
- Bird-watching, photography, nature study
- Picnicking on spots where there are no wildflowers, ferns, etc.
- Dogs must be kept on leash and under control, and must not disturb people or wildlife (General Ordinances of the City of Waltham updated 5-2004, Article II, Section 3-17. Violators may be subject to fines as per Section 3-21.)
- Owners are required to clean up after their dogs. (General Ordinances of the City of Waltham, updated 5-2004, Article II, Section 3-18. Violators may be subject to fines - Section 3-21.)
- Bicycling on Bull Run.
The following activities are prohibited except with a
special permit issued by the Waltham Conservation Commission:
- Dog training
- Organized athletic activities
- Horseback riding
The following activities are prohibited:
- Professional Dog Walking
- Possession of guns, bows and arrows, or other weapons; hunting and trapping
- Producing noise, which might disturb other users or abutters of the conservation area
- Leaving any trash, litter, or other articles or substances
- Operating any motorized vehicles except in the driveway and parking lots
- Using the parking lot for any reason other than parking while using the adjacent trails or visiting the Paine Estate
- Loitering
- Lighting of or building of fires
- Smoking
- Picking of or removing of any plants, trees, shrubs, or vegetation
- Excavating of or removing of soil, rocks, or leaf litter
- Removing or disturbing of any stonewalls, signs, gates, or other structures
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages
Any group which plans to conduct an activity on this property must submit a permission request form.
