CONSTRUCTION WEEK OF 5/13/2024 - 5/17/2024:

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Notification

Construction activities for the week of May 13, 2024:

• This week, crews continued to make progress on the 36” water main by constructing approximately 23 linear feet of pipeline near Jack’s Way, installing a valve chamber and associated piping, and completing pipe work at the air release chamber.
o Crews were also able to focus on water main relocations/replacements on Lexington Street at the Lake Street intersection and Brookway Road intersection. At these locations gravel trenches were plated or paved ahead of weekend travel use.
o Additionally, full-width asphalt milling and grading along Lexington Street from Totten Pond Road to approximately 200 feet south of Jack’s Way was completed (the roadway is gravel through this location).
• Next week, crews will work a normal schedule with the southbound Lexington Street detour in place, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00AM to 5:00PM, with potential for work later each day or on Friday should weather or other impacts cause the schedule to shift.
o The crews are expected to continue installing the new 36” pipeline through Jack’s Way. They will also continue to address water main tie-ins at cross streets north of Lake Street.
o Furthermore, paving operations are currently scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday next Week (5/14 – 5/15).
