Fernald Stream Daylighting Project

Update 9/20/2022:

The project has been substantially completed.  The contractor will be returning in the coming weeks to preform final punch list items.

Project Description:

The City has contracted SumCo Eco-Contracting of Peabody, MA to reestablish approximately 1,800 feet of stream through a portion of the Fernald School property which had perviously been diverted and piped underground when the school was in use.  Work will include establishment of a pond feature, control weirs, slope stabilization, and restoration plantings of native trees and shrubs along the bank.
