Clark Street:

  • The Contractor will continue installing new water main from Gale Street and head towards Bright Street. Work is anticipated to be last approximately 1 week.
  • We do ask that cars parked on the Clark Street to not park on Clark Street between the construction hours posted on the barrel cones.
  • Please be aware of “NO PARKING” signs on the street.
    • Note: When the signs on the barrel cones are facing out towards the street “NO PARKING” will be in effect on the posted signs. When the signs on the barrel cones are facing towards the houses, “NO PARKING” will be in effect.
  • Residents should anticipate slight delays on your commute times.

Ripley Street:

  • Installation of the new water main from River Street towards Clark Street will continue. After installation has been completed on Clark Street work is anticipated to start the week of 5/5/24.
  • We do ask that cars parked on the Clark Street to not park on Clark Street between the construction hours posted on the barrel cones.
  • Please be aware of “NO PARKING” signs on the street.
    • Note: When the signs on the barrel cones are facing out towards the street “NO PARKING” will be in effect on the posted signs. When the signs on the barrel cones are facing towards the houses, “NO PARKING” will be in effect.
  • Residents should anticipate slight delays on your commute times.

Peirce Street:

  • Installation of the new water main from River Street towards Clark Street will begin after installation has been completed on Clark Street and Ripley Street.
  • We do ask that cars parked on the Clark Street to not park on Clark Street between the construction hours posted on the barrel cones.
  • Please be aware of “NO PARKING” signs on the street.
    • Note: When the signs on the barrel cones are facing out towards the street “NO PARKING” will be in effect on the posted signs. When the signs on the barrel cones are facing towards the houses, “NO PARKING” will be in effect.
  • Residents leaving their homes should plan to exit out towards Clark Street.  Residents should anticipate slight delays on your commute times.

Gale Street:

  • Installation of the new water main from River Street towards Clark Street will begin after installation has been completed on Clark Street, Ripley Street, and Peirce Street.
  • We do ask that cars parked on the Clark Street to not park on Clark Street between the construction hours posted on the barrel cones.
  • Please be aware of “NO PARKING” signs on the street.

River Street:

  • Construction of new water main installation at the intersections with Ripley Street, Peirce Street, and Gale Street has been completed. Work in the intersections is not completely done and the Contractor will be back in the intersections at a later date.
  • We do ask that cars parked on the Clark Street to not park on Clark Street between the construction hours posted on the barrel cones.
  • Please be aware of “NO PARKING” signs on the street.
    • Note: When the signs on the barrel cones are facing out towards the street “NO PARKING” will be in effect on the posted signs. When the signs on the barrel cones are facing towards the houses, “NO PARKING” will be in effect.
  • Residents should anticipate slight delays on your commute times.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project will consist of various water and sewer improvements to Gale, Ripley, Peirce, and Clark Street.  Once all utility improvements have been completed, roadway paving will occur after utility work has been completed. 

The City has awarded this project N. Granese & Sons, Inc. of Salem, MA.  It is anticipated that utility construction will begin March 2024.  Roadway repaving will occur after utility work has been completed. 

The City will be sending out regular email updates to residents.  In order to sign up for these updates please send an email to ewong@city.waltham.ma.us to be added to the distribution list.

Trash & recycling will be picked up on the regularly scheduled day during construction.  There may be times where trash and recycling pick up first thing in the morning to avoid conflicts with construction activity.  Please make sure that your trash and recycling is placed curbside by 7:00am on the day of pick up to ensure collection.  

Work hours will be 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Please be on the look out for "No Parking" signs posted ahead of work each day.
