Waltham continues to prioritize energy efficiency projects through the support of the DOER with $149,565 in Green Communities grant funds awarded in 2025! DOER funding was leveraged with City funds and utility rebates for total project costs worth over $222,000. Projects funded were LED retrofits at the Kennedy Middle School and pipe insulation at City Hall, the Senior Center, 260 Grove Street, and the Lake Street Fire Station, and administrative funds. These projects are anticipated to save the City $38,500 in utility costs annually and save 54 tons of greenhouse gas emissions yearly. Press Release from the DOER
