Construction Activity Notification

The purpose of this courtesy notice is to advise residents in the vicinity of the 1265 Main site that we will be conducting some additional construction detonation activity on the site during the period between May 19, 2014 and September 1, 2014.  The purpose of this activity is to remove some additional ledge in existing disturbed areas and to ensure that certain additional rock removal in other locations is completed before tenants open at the site.  Performing this work now will ensure that any impacts on site operations will be minimized once tenants are open and operating.  Please note the following:

1. All additional rock removal activity will be conducted pursuant to the existing permit renewed by Waltham Fire Department and dated May 15, 2014 and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
2. All detonation activity will be performed by Maine Drilling and Blasting Company, a qualified, licensed, and insured contractor.
3. The rock removal will be taking place approximately in the site areas designated on the attached plan.  All of the rock removal will occur outside of the 250-foot blasting notification radius provided under state law.  However, to ensure that abutters are adequately informed, we have voluntarily sent notices to abutters within 300 feet of the detonation activity. 
4. Our contractor is maintaining a list of residents who would like to receive 60 minute advance notice of impending detonation activity, and we will also contact each of the residents on that list to advise them, at least two days before commencement of this initial detonation activity.
