Information regarding door-to-door solicitations

In response to recent posts regarding private door-to-door solicitations;
Per the Waltham Police Department:
-All sales representatives going door-to-door must have a 3x5 identification card outside of their uniform/clothing which is issued by the Police Department.
-The identification card should include the City Seal, the person’s name, and the company’s name.
-If the person fails to provide proper identification or you suspect it is fraudulent please contact the Waltham Police Department non-emergency line at (781) 893-3700.
-Should the sales representative become hostile or you feel threatened please dial 911 immediately.
-All unlicensed sales people will be fined $300.00.
