• Please do not queue on Trapelo Road for more than ten minutes prior to park opening. Cars that are waiting will be asked to leave. • Be courteous to our neighbors - park only in designated lots and spaces.
• Please limit your visit to 2 hours. • Please be respectful of all play elements and be aware of designated ages in play space. • Please pack in /out all trash. • Share the space with all park users.
• Animals must be on leash at all times. Please pick up after your pets. • Animals are NOT permitted in recreation amenity areas (playgrounds, spray park, mini golf)
• No motorized / manual bikes or scooters in recreation areas. • No smoking, drugs, or alcohol on City of Waltham property. • No trespassing in restricted areas - Violators will be asked to leave and police will be notified.
Field Trips • Field trips and organized groups must have a permit issued by the Recreation Department. Waltham Recreation Department is accepting field trip applications (outdoor permit application) for Waltham organizations and groups/organizations that work with individuals with disabilities ONLY. |
About the property:
Waltham Recreation Department has care, custody, and control of approximately 120 acres (Parcel 1 and 2a-1). The first area opened in May of 2025. The space open includes; the Universal area (playground for all ages and abilities, seasonal spray park, seasonal mini golf and sledding hill) and the Memorial Area (open field space, walking path, adult fitness and retrospective look on the history of recreation on this property).
The second phase of design/construction includes the arts/amphitheater area and sports area. Construction will begin in those areas when the weather permits.
Exterior/Historical renovations are ongoing for 2026-2027 for the Howe/Canteen Building and Administration Building. Design services for the Howe/Canteen Building indoor pool will be on going.
