Construction Waste Disposal
In an effort to reduce the disposal of construction and demolition materials in household waste, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has implemented waste disposal bans on many of the materials generated during construction and demolition. Please do not include any type of construction waste in your trash barrels or recycling carts. The trash hauler will NOT collect it. Banned materials include the following:
- Asphalt Pavement
- Brick
- Concrete
- Metal
- Wood
- Clean Gypsum Wallboard (drywall)
- Toilets
Contractors are generally responsible for disposal of construction and demolition debris. Residents are instructed to contract a private hauler for construction waste disposal. See here for more info on the MA waste bans
