Attached is the presentation from Traffic Commission a couple weeks ago, regarding the Proposed Route 128 Corridor Plan. This is a conceptual design plan; refinements to this concept are underway by the designer.
Some of the highlights:
- A new Main Street bridge over Route 128, with seven lanes
- Green Street realigned directly opposite Bear Hill Road and extended to Route 20 rotary
- Three new traffic signals around the Route 20 rotary, to improve safety
- A new northbound on-ramp from Main Street (Route 117)
- Stow Street will no longer connect directly to Main Street
- A potential new structure for the Wayside Rail Trail over Route 128
- Reconstruction of the off and on ramps between Route 128 northbound and Third Avenue/Prospect Hill Lane
- A new traffic signal at the intersection of Third Avenue/Prospect Hill Lane/Route 128 interchange
- Once these improvements are in place, the Connector Road would be able to be open full time
