Eversource crews are continuing to work in various locations where meters and wiring were damaged after an abnormal voltage issue was caused by a substation this past Saturday. They have hired external electricians who are assisting affected customers to exchange the meters and make repairs where they can. While they continue to investigate the root cause of this issue, any customer affected by the surge who are still having electrical issues should call Eversource at 800-592-2000.

Did you have property damaged due to the surge? You can submit a property damage claim with Eversource online here or by calling their Claims Department at 844-685-4475.

With all that said, we’d like to send a SHOUT OUT to our emergency operations crews who have been working around the clock to correct these issues and ensure the safety of all our residents. Way to go Waltham Police, Fire, Dispatchers, and our city Wires Department! And a thank you to Newton, Watertown, Lexington, and Cambridge Fire for their assistance! Let’s all do our best to continue to be patient during this time. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
