Key summary points from the Traffic Commission’s meeting Regarding Moody St & Outdoor Dining/Retail

* Per the Traffic Commission’s final decision yesterday, Moody Steet will be OPEN to regular 2-way vehicular traffic from Monday at 5am – through Thursday at 4pm, May 25th to September 25th, 2023.

* Moody Street will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic and open for outdoor dining & retail from Thursday at 4pm, through Monday at 5am, May 25th to September 25th, 2023. Outdoor dining & retail will be offered during this time frame ONLY. Any Moody Street business wanting to use the parking space(s) in front of their business for outdoor dining or retail are advised to contact our Traffic Engineering office to go through the permit process. The permit application will be available on Monday, 4/24/23.

* Businesses will NOT need to break down outdoor set ups every week. Set ups can remain in a barrier enclosure in the parking space(s) in front of their business. 

* Waltham Public Works & Waltham Police will be in charge of closing/opening Moody Street Mondays at 5am and Thursdays at 4pm.

* Area residents will have access to side streets
