In celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2019, the Waltham Public Works & Recycling Departments will be holding TWO citywide events on Saturday, April 20th:

• The City of Waltham is holding their annual city wide cleanup on Saturday, April 20th from 9am to 12pm. We will clean up the city of trash and litter. This is a great opportunity for residents, students and businesses to get involved in their community and help maintain a clean city we all can be proud of.

We are seeking volunteers to make this event successful. Anyone can pitch in, students, shopkeepers, neighbors, service organizations, large corporations, churches and youth organizations to name a few. Volunteers may join as individuals or in groups. The goal is to spread across the entire City and hit as many areas in need such as parks, streets, sidewalks, and the Riverwalks. Please contact the city’s Consolidated Public Works Department at 781-314-3800 for more information. To sign up to volunteer e-mail Stewart LaCrosse at slacrosse@city.waltham.ma.us or Janice Deveney at jdeveney@city.waltham.ma.us

• The Waltham Recycling Department will be hosting a Recycling & Collection Event on Saturday, April 20th at Nipper Maher Park (65 Dartmouth St) for Waltham residents to bring unwanted products for recycling. Items such as mattresses, computer/tv monitors, eye glasses, books, clothing, bicycles, etc. can be brought over. See the flyer for a list of accepted items/restrictions.
