Update as of 1:35pm:

This is the Superintendent’s Office at Waltham Public Schools.  We are writing to inform you that after a sweep of all of our schools with the Waltham Police Dept, all schools have been cleared for students and staff to return.  Dismissal will occur at the regularly scheduled times.  We would like to thank Mayor McCarthy, Waltham Police and Fire Departments for their support

A message from WALTHAM PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

This afternoon the Waltham Public Schools received a bomb threat via email.  We want to make sure you know that all students and adults are safe.  We immediately called 911 and locked down all of our schools while the WPD conducted a swift assessment.  While there does not appear to be any credibility to the threat, after consulting with the Waltham Police Department, we evacuated our buildings.   We are working with WPD and others to sweep our buildings while the schools are evacuated and searched.  We will communicate as soon as we have a new update.  The students are not being dismissed at this time and are in a safe locations outside of the building.
