The City of Waltham has acquired a new Emergency Notification system, 'Regroup Notifications'. Starting July 1st, 2025, the City of Waltham will no longer be using 'CodeRED' to relay urgent alerts and messages to residents. We’ve upgraded to Regroup Notifications — a faster, more reliable way to get real-time alerts.

If you do not sign up for Regroup, you will no longer receive any alerts on your mobile device from the City of Waltham — including emergencies, weather warnings, and important community updates.

*Click here to register with Regroup Notifications* to receive text, email and voice alerts for emergencies, snow parking ban information, and other important general city-wide alerts. Make sure to set your contact preferences. You may register landlines, cell phones (calls and/or texts), and emails.

No one should automatically assume they have been transferred over to the new emergency contact database. ALL Waltham residents and those who work or study within the City are encouraged to follow the instructions above to ensure you remain on the contact list.

Examples of emergency warnings:

  • Lockdown notice
  • Impending Storm/Hurricane
  • Viral outbreak
  • Dangerous individual
  • Missing person
  • Evacuations
  • Active shooter
  • Chemical spill
  • Nuclear threats

Examples of community warnings:

  • Parking Ban Alerts
  • Hydrant Testing
  • Testing of college emergency sirens
  • Fraud or scam alerts
  • Community watch information

Any questions regarding the Regroup system should be forwarded to the 911 Center's non emergency lines at 781-893-3700 or 781-893-4100.
