The City of Waltham launches OpenGov Financial Transparency Software! See memo from Mayor McCarthy:

As Mayor, one of my continuing goals has been to promote transparency in all areas of local government. On financial matters, the annual City budget and the annual independent audit report has been posted on the City Auditor’s webpage on the City’s website. Due to the nature of PDF documents, it hinders a user to truly interact with the data and delve deeper. Over a year ago, I authorized the City Auditor to explore a financial transparency tool with the goal of allowing users to visually understand and examine the elements of the City’s budget and related finances.  After many months of research and the efforts to convert, upload and verify multiple years’ of data, we now have such a tool.

I am pleased to announce the launch of the City’s financial transparency program – OpenGov!
