Friday, July 1st: This year, fireworks will be set off from a barge set up in the Charles River near Moody Street Bridge! Fireworks will begin at dusk on Friday, July 1st. There will be a hard closure of the Moody Street Bridge starting at 4PM on Friday, July 1st (from 139 Moody Street at the Riverwalk to Moody/Pine Streets). 

Saturday, July 2nd: Join us at Prospect Hill Park (314 Totten Pond Rd) from 10am-2pm for plenty of free fun for the whole family! There will be music, amusements, games, and more!

Sunday, July 3rd & Monday, July 4th: There are no events planned for July 3rd or 4th. Make note of the schedule in Waltham for the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 4th.
 

Additional things to make note of:

  • Additional street closures will include the current "Moody Street Marketplace", from Pine-Cushing/Walnut St and from Chestnut-Maple/High St. See a detour map here & parking options here.
  • Vendors, such as a food truck and ice cream truck will be on site
  • No contraband or weapons will be allowed. No public drinking allowed. It is strongly recommended that backpacks, coolers and glass containers are not carried for security purposes. Officers will be on detail in uniform as well as plain clothes to ensure a safe and orderly event. 
  • Due to the large noise associated with fireworks, it is recommended you leave your pets at home.
  • Waltham Police and Fire details will be on site.
  • Should we be rained out, the fireworks celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 5th. Check our website for updates.
  • MBTA BUS SERVICE CHANGES: Due to the Moody Street bridge closure, on July 1st, the 505, 553, 554, 556, and 558 MBTA bus will not serve stops on Crescent or Moody, between Pleasant St/Maple St and Carter St. The 505 bus will not be able to serve the stops at Common, opposite Middle or Lexington @ School St. Click the flyers below to enlarge for more info & detour map:
