Per the Waltham Council on Aging - There are many scams currently circulating this holiday season, with the latest related to COVID-19. Most scammers are targeting vulnerable senior citizens

Please be on the lookout & share the following with the seniors in your household:

• Scammers are calling seniors offering “100%” accurate COVID-19 tests. They are asking for credit card information over the phone and obviously these expectant seniors are not receiving these so-called tests.

• Another big scam targeting seniors is getting a call from someone selling a COVID-19 vaccine. People are told to purchase the vaccine over the phone with their credit cards and it will be waiting for them to pick-up at their local pharmacy.

Scammers have found even more ways to spoof phone numbers & email addresses to look as though they are legitimate. Please be vigilant against scammers and take a minute to research and “vet” what they are asking of you. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is! All are advised to avoid giving out ANY personal information, including address, payment information, etc.
