Heads up! MassDOT announced temporary lane restrictions on Route 128/Interstate 95 northbound between exit 27A (Third Avenue) and exit 27B (Totten Pond Road) in Waltham, beginning on Tuesday, May 26th, and continue daily through Friday, May 29th

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that there will be temporary lane restrictions on Route 128/Interstate 95 northbound between exit 27A (Third Avenue) and exit 27B (Totten Pond Road) in Waltham. This work will take place beginning on Tuesday, May 26, and continue daily through Friday, May 29.

The varying lane closures will be in place daily between 7:00 a.m., and 3:30 p.m., and are necessary to allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively begin construction staging operations at the exit 27A northbound on and off-ramps.

Signs, traffic control devices and law enforcement details will be used to guide drivers through the work zones.

MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone and to allow for extra time through this area. All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice.

The work is being conducted as part of a private access permit project. This project is reconstructing the Route 128/Interstate 95 northbound exit 27A on and off-ramps and road between exits 27A and 27B in Waltham.
