On the Job Training
Much of our education as fire fighters is learned on the job through practical exercises, often referred to as "on the job training". We strongly believe that you learn how to do a task best by actually doing it. That is why so much of our training involves hands-on exercises. This can range from advancing and flowing hoselines, climbing ladders and operating the jaws of life, to rope rescue and driving fire apparatus.
Our "On the Job Training" consists of daily, company-level training; regularly scheduled multi-unit training and department-wide classes.
