Ice & Water Rescue Training 

Waltham firefighters must be prepared to respond to incidents in any location and in any kind of climatic condition. Our city has many waterways that lie next to heavily traveled areas.  Therefore, our Fire Department must be prepared to rescue people who get in trouble either in the water or on the ice in the winter. Our Department maintains three boats and ice sleds to handle such situations.  Throughout the year, our crews train with this equipment.
