WFD Responds to Fatal Accident at 385 Beaver Street - Vehicle vs. Pedestrian

23-year old Female Victim Dies From Injuries While at Beth Israel Hospital

The Waltham Fire Department responded to 385 Beaver Street Friday afternoon (March 16, 2012) for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle with bystander C.P.R. in progress on the vicitim.

WFD Rescue 6 and C-2 responded along with American Medical Response (AMR) Medic and Ambulance units, Waltham Police, and Bentley University Police.  Rescue 6 arrived at 3:25 pm and found a 23-year old female near the pedestrian bridge who had been struck by a vehicle and a bystander was performing C.P.R. on the vicitim.  Rescue 6 and AMR took over C.P.R. and applied a cardiac defibrillator.

The patient was transported by AMR to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.  The patient was then transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston where she died from her injuries.
