Waste Ban regulations require businesses to recycle.
The City of Waltham is offering curbside recycling
collection services, at no cost to small and medium-sized businesses
located along the City's existing residential recycling collection
routes. This Service will be available to the first 600 businesses
who apply. Please contact the Recycling Department at 781-314-3390
for more information.
Paper Recycling for Small Businesses -
Jet-A-Way
To
participate, you must be a Waltham based company. The annual
participation fee is $225.00. You will find that it is cost-effective
to recycle, as the cost of trash disposal is
significantly higher. In
addition to pick-ups, the fee includes up to (10) 99-gallon toters*.
All pick-ups are scheduled monthly, the first Tuesday of the month.
Jet-A-Way will make
pick-ups only on the scheduled days. All ON CALL-
customers must call Service Department at (617) 541-4000 Ext. 242, at
least one day before the scheduled Tuesday pick-up to
receive

The Minuteman Hazardous Products Facility
Waltham is a
community member of the Minuteman Hazardous Products Facility in
Lexington. Businesses may dispose of hazardous products at the
Facility, at their own xpense. Please call ahead to pre-register and to
obtain a price estimate. The Minuteman Hazardous Facility is open to
the public on the following Saturdays in 2009: April

20, July 18,
August 15, September 20,

Computer
& Television Recycling Program
This is a
Saturday curbside collection program. Business will be charged the same
rate that the City of Waltham pays for residents: $10/ per computer or
television monitor, including all associated material. If disposed on
any other day than scheduled Saturday, there is an additional charge.

Earth 911
Business
is now available on Earth 911 for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Through a partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental
Protection and Staples, Inc., this parallel network to the Earth 911
system features information focused on helping business reduce waste,
create a comprehensive waste reduction program, and implement a
recycling program.

Massachusetts Marine Shrink Wrap Recycling Program
Boat shrink wrap collection generally takes place from
April through the end of June. All inquiries can be directed to
Tom Lynch of E.L Harvey at 1-800-321-3002.
In 2004, plastic shrink wrap from approximately 2,500
boats was recycled by utilizing the Marine Shrink Wrap Recycling
Program. Marinas along the Massachusetts coast accessed 17 collection
sites, diverting over 37 tons of plastic shrink wrap from landfills.
E. L. Harvey and Sons
donated extensive roll-off, collection, and baling services to the
project.
WasteWise
WasteWise is a
free, voluntary program run jointly by the US Environmental Protection
Agency (US EPA) and MA Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP)
that helps organizations reduce costly solid waste disposal, thereby
benefiting their bottom line and the environment. It’s flexible and
allows members to custom design waste reduction programs to fit their

collection programs provide an excellent community and employee
relations tool for companies. By launching a wireless phone
collection campaign, your company can help the environment

alternatives to new phones. The rest are safely recycled in accordance
with all applicable U.S. environmental regulations.
