Bicycles should be registered with the Waltham Police Department for a few reasons:
- The bicycle's owner can be very easily identified, in the case that the bike is recovered by Waltham Police or another department.
- Registering your bike also provides descriptive information, such as a serial number, to the Waltham Police, which makes the bicycle traceable should it be stolen and/or pawned.
- It also provides a record of important information that may be needed for insurance purposes.
Registration is for Waltham Residents only and the process is not complete until you come in and pick up the sticker to be placed on the bike.
