Waltham Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael J. Quinn currently commands Group 2 of the Fire Suppression Division.
A Waltham native and long-time resident, Chief Quinn joined the Waltham Fire Department in June of 1978 after first serving on the Sudbury Fire Department. He rose through the ranks of the Waltham Fire Department holding positions as a Firefighter, then promoted to Lieutenant on Ladder 1 June of 1986, promoted to Captain of Engine 4 in May of 2001 and promoted to Deputy Chief in December of 2002 for Fire Suppression Group 2. He served as Acting Chief of Department from September 29, 2011 until March 12, 2012 before returning to his Group 2 Deputy Chief position.
