The City of Waltham Housing Division mission is to improve the City’s housing stock through rehabilitation and to develop and implement programs to increase access to affordable housing for Waltham residents. The office will provide support to non-profits in developing and managing affordable housing, and will work with State and Federal governments to secure additional resources for housing programs. The office will act as a referral service on housing issues for its constituents.
Programs and services include:
The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program. This loan program provides an interest free loan to eligible applicants up to $10,000 that is payable on sale or transfer of the property.
The Down Payment Assistance Loan Program. This loan program provides a 17% downpayment to eligible applicants. This loan is interest free and payable on sale or transfer of the property.
Eligble applicants will be within the income guidlines as published by HUD for low-moderate income households. For more information on both programs and how you can apply please see our program guidelines under Links.
