City implements NEW CodeRED system for citizens to receive Emergency Notifications via phone, text, & email - Sign up here!

Following a thorough evaluation and review of alerting systems, the City of Waltham has implemented the CodeRED system, a high-speed emergency notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based Emergency Communications Network.

The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the City of Waltham’s emergency planning and communications outreach to citizens of Waltham by using the system capabilities to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and social media posts in an effort to effectively inform residents to protect life and property. Learn how the CodeRED Emergency Notification system works.

CodeRED will provide the City with a reliable, easy-to-use interface to quickly disseminate critical information to our citizens during emergencies. Waltham anticipates using the system to notify residents in specific geographic locations of snow emergencies, parking bans, and missing persons, just to name a few. CodeRED also offers a FREE MOBILE APP to receive urgent alerts based on your location. To download, please click here.

Waltham has been provided an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers, however, no one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database. ALL Waltham residents, students and those who work within the City are encouraged to enroll contact information including cell phone numbers, text and email addresses. If you are unsure of whether your contact information is in the emergency database, or you have recently moved or changed your telephone number, it is important to visit the enrollment page to add or update your information.
