Tree Programs

The City of Waltham currently has two new Tree Programs available to Waltham residents. Click on the links below for more information on the following:

  • TREE SETBACK PLANTING PROGRAM -
Waltham residents can now request a shade tree to be planted on their property (in consideration of Mass State Laws, Chapter 87) by Waltham’s Tree Warden and the city agrees to provide and plant the tree at NO COST. Setback plantings allow public tree managers more flexibility in working with residents to plant “the right tree in the right place” and can provide trees with more “growing space” and better conditions under which to survive, thrive and achieve their full potential. See more...

  • CITY OF WALTHAM GIVING TREE PROGRAM -
Trees may now be purchased by an individual or entity in honor of, or in memory of a person. The location & species of the tree will be determined by the City’s Tree Warden to best suit location. A certificate signed by Mayor McCarthy will be presented to the donor for their participation in the “Giving Tree Program” and the trees planted will be listed in a “Honor Roll of Trees” section on the city’s website, including donors names and honoree, as well as location of the trees.
