Monday - October 29, 2012

The Waltham Fire Department stands ready to respond to any possible damage from Hurricane Sandy as residents brace for its impact which is expected to be most severe today (Monday - October 29) begining around noon and lasting until the evening hours.  Forecasted strong winds could bring down treelimbs and powerlines - causing power outages while rain could cause possible flooding.  Governor Deval Patrick has already declared a State of Emergency and urged people to stay inside and avoid any unnecessary travel.  The Waltham Fire Department has placed additional staffing on duty to handle larger call volume.
