WFD Announces Retirement of Lt. Robert M. Sweeney
Ladder Tower 1 Lieutenant Retires With More Than 34 Years of Service

The Waltham Fire Department announces the retirement of Lt. Robert M. Sweeney, who leaves his position on Ladder Tower 1 out of Central Station, Group 3, after 34 years of service to the city of Waltham. Sweeney was appointed to the Waltham Fire Department on August 20, 1978. He was promoted to Lieutenant on April 29, 1990. He served his last shift Friday, September 28, 2012. The Department would like to thank Lt. Sweeney for his service and wishes him all the best in his retirement.
