Blasting Operations Continue at 1265 Main Street – Former Polaroid Site

Residents Should Expect Blasts to Continue Monday through Friday for Next Few Months

Friday – July 27, 2012

The Waltham Fire Department is advising residents that blasting operations are underway at 1265 Main Street – the former Polaroid Site.  Blasting is generally occurring Monday through Friday between 7 am and 4 pm.  More than one blast may occur each day.  Residents may hear noise and feel movement associated with the blast.  A fire department detail is on scene for every blast and seismograph records are provided to ensure the blasters remain within the state regulated limits.

Maine Drilling and Blasting has informed the Waltham Fire Department they expect to continue blasting operations for one to three months in order to finish the site preparation.  If you wish to be notified of the daily blasting schedule you can be added to a call list by calling Waltham Fire Prevention at 781-314-3710.

If your property has been damaged by the blasting you need to fill out a blast damage form at the Waltham Fire Prevention Office.
