Newton Fire Department struck a third alarm for a fire in a 3 story wood framed house at 10 Auburndale Ave. This fire fell on a Wednesday night ( our training night ) so when they called for the WAFD Air Supply, we had a real quick response. The Lighting Plant quickly followed to assist in manpower. The Air Supply crew filled over 40 SCBA bottles, while the Lighting Plant crew provided interior and exterior lighting on the fire ground. Also utilized were the WAFD portable pumps to remove water from the basement.
