Newton Fire Department transmitted a 4th alarm fire at the location of 56 Waverley Ave. This house was built in 1870 and was a total loss. Ultimatley one female resident was unable to escape the flames and died during the fire. Waltham Auxiliary's Air Supply and Lighting Plant were specical called to the fire on the third alarm. The Air Supply filled over 40 SCBA bottles and the Lighting Plant provided interior and exterior lights on the fire scene.
