Shuttle Service |
The Council on Aging will advertise for specific
events when we will be using our shuttle van. For these events the
shuttle will pick people up at the Sacred Heart Church parking lot
1/2 hour before the event and will return you to your car 1/2 hour
after the event. Avoid parking hassles and use this convenient
option! |

Medical Van |
Free transportation to medical
appointments within Waltham is available Monday - Friday from 8:00
a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Make reservations as soon as possible. The van
provides curb to curb service. Wheelchair service is available.
If having outpatient surgery,
rider must provide for his/her own ride home. There is no tipping,
but voluntary donations are accepted. Transportation for handicapped
clients under age 60 is subject to availability. |

Shopping Bus |
Available on Thursdays at 8:20 a.m. to Hannaford
Market and 12:20 p.m. to Shaw's Market. Each shopping trip is 1 hour 15
minutes. Call the senior center to reserve a space. There is no charge
for this service, yet voluntary donations are accepted. |

Taxi Voucher Discount Program |
Taxi vouchers are available to all Waltham residents
over the age of 60. Proof of age is required and your initial purchase
must be made in person. The cost is $5.00 for a book of $10.00 vouchers.
S.S.I. recipients pay $2.50 per book. S.S.I. proof required. |

Suburban Med-Ride |
You must be at least 60 years of age to qualify
for transportation to most destinations in the Greater Boston
area. Call 1-866-633-7433 for more information. |

MBTA Reduced Pass Program |
Senior citizens qualify for reduced fare on all
MBTA service with a Senior Citizen ID card. For more information
call 617-222-5438 or TTY 617-222-5854. Subway service at most
stations is 35 cents and regular local bus service is 25 cents. |

The Ride |
Transportation for those who because of a
mental, physical, or sensory disability are unable to use
general public transportation. Applicants must provide a
doctor's letter. Applications are available at the Council on
Aging office. |
